Perry Barr Greyhound Stadium can confirm details of its racing schedule for 2024, with Saturday night racing headlining four weekly fixtures starting in the new year.
The Aldridge Road venue will open its doors on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons plus Wednesday and Saturday evenings with all fixtures forming part of the Premier Greyhound Racing schedule launching on January 1, 2024.
Headlining Perry Barr’s calendar will be four Category One competitions – the highest grade of UK greyhound racing – with the Arena Racing Company Laurels in April plus the M Lambe Construction Birmingham Cup and Premier Greyhound Racing St Leger in September.
The venue’s Category One programme for 2024 concludes in October with the 93rd running of the Premier Greyhound Racing Oaks.
General Manager Chris Black said the schedule will deliver a strong mix of graded, open and competition races for racegoers to enjoy.
“We’ve experienced a bumper year with four new Category One champions crowned and plenty more highlights in our racing calendar,” said Chris. “We’re really pleased to extend our Saturday evening racing schedule into 2024 which has been well received among racegoers and our much-valued owners and trainers alike.
“Equally, our midweek evening fixture this year has proven a popular social outlet with racing in the new year set to begin on Wednesday nights.
“For families and groups of friends or colleagues yet to experience live greyhound racing, we’d highly recommend a visit trackside. The action is fast and there are plenty of opportunities to meet the stars of the track, learn more about the life of a racing greyhound and see how they make great pets in retirement.”
Admission on Wednesday and Saturday evenings is priced £8 for adults with U18s costing only £1. Trackside packages and restaurant bookings are also available to purchase via the venue’s website by clicking here.
